Interactive Electronic Music Course

Two-week workshop at the Dartington International Summer School, Devon, England

In the summer of 1998 the workshop was held for the first time, directed by Jonathan Impett (who had been teaching trumpet Master Classes at the Summer School for several years) and Bert Bongers. The patio studio was turned into an electronic music lab, as can be seen on the picture below. A group of six participants with a varied musical and technical background worked intensively for two weeks on building their instruments (both in hardware and software) and presented them at concerts in the main hall and the dance studio.

Special Guest during the first week was Frances-Marie Uitti.

In 1999 the workshop had five participants who built and performed with instruments ranging from extended instruments to gestural controllers to fruit.
